There are many things to consider when planning your Sydney Wedding, and choosing the right photographer can be a daunting task. We hope the answers to these questions often asked by clients when planning their wedding photography will enable you to understand our wedding photography service a little more and help you make the right decision when choosing your wedding photographer.
Why hire a professional wedding photographer and why Fraicam?
The reason for using a professional wedding photographer on your wedding day as opposed to a 'weekend warrior' or a 'family friend' is that we are dedicated to creating images that make a lasting impression and we take pride in the end results. Our experience, gained over the years of the 'wedding day' proceedings, ensures that we capture all the 'must have' images with precision and confidence that would take non-professionals many years to master. Qualifications!!! Another advantage to using a professional photographer is his/her qualifications. With a Bachelor Degree in Photography we have formally learnt the complexities of photography. We have an in-depth knowledge of lighting (natural and studio), camera equipment, composition, tone and post processing. Skillfully combining this technical knowledge is essential to creating beautiful wedding photographs. How do your wedding packages work? Are there any other costs?
We have designed our Wedding Packages to be as simple as possible. Increasingly more couples prefer to print their own wedding photographs so ALL our wedding packages include images on DVD at high resolution ready to print. We offer many extra options, such as pre wedding portraits, albums, and prints that other photographers include in their packages as mandatory, and these extras can be added to any of our wedding photography packages. We believe that our wedding packages approach allows you full control over your wedding photography requirements and your wedding budget. When you book you will know the exact cost of your package, there are never any hidden costs.
When should we book our wedding photographer?
After you have booked you church or ceremony and reception its time to book your wedding photographer. The more notice you give us the better chance you have to getting the photographer you want. Many of our clients book their wedding photography with us 3-12 months in advance. If your wedding is in the summer months then we would suggest booking your wedding photography sooner rather than later, as in these popular months for weddings, places fill fairly quickly.
How do we book our wedding photographer?
Your wedding photography requirements are gathered at our first meeting and you will be given a copy. To secure the date and confirm your booking we require a 50% deposit, which is around $400-$700 depending on your wedding package. The wedding date is then yours and we only take one booking per day. The balance of your wedding package is then due one month before your wedding date. If you are unable to meet before your wedding day i can send you a wedding photography booking form and you can book our services via email or return your form in the post. How soon after our wedding day do we receive our images?
Viewing your wedding photographs is a very exciting time and to avoid unnecessary anticipation we work swiftly to deliver your photographs. Your online wedding gallery hosted on our site will be live one week after your wedding day and your DVD containing all the Hi-Res optimised images are delivered within two weeks. Simply we aim to deliver all your photographs to you by the time you return from your honeymoon.
What is the image quality and what is 'hi-res'?
The images supplied to you on disk are of the highest possible quality. Our post processing is complexed and we work on each image individually to optimise it ready for print. You get all the images on disk in uncompressed JPG format which means you can enlarge your images to any size without having to pay extra to the photographer for high end prints. If you prefer that we process any enlargements, then this can be done at a nominal price which will quoted for upon request. Images are supplied on DVD in colour and BW.
Do you have a second photographer at our wedding?
For most weddings I work alone without an assistant. A second photographer is useful if you have many guests (over 200) and the second photographers can offer images from a different perspective. If you would like to hire a second wedding photographer at your wedding then this can be arranged, please let me know at our first meeting.
Do you travel outside of Sydney for weddings? Does this cost extra?
Yes. I have photographed weddings in the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Wollongong and Central Coast. There is a small travel fee charged for weddings outside Sydney Suburbs. At the time of your enquiry we can discuss travel fees, usually its about $150 for any of the above mentioned locations.
